Overview
As a product design intern with PwC, I focused on empowering the firm's tax professionals to prioritize strategic tasks. Working closely with the design and development team, I helped create AI-powered automation solutions for routine processes. Our goal was to enhance productivity by reducing time spent on repetitive tasks. My role involved designing an intuitive user experience that adhered to PwC's design standards while ensuring seamless integration with existing platforms. The project successfully streamlined workflows for engagement teams, allowing them to focus more on high-value activities.

Embrace feedback
During my time at PwC, I learned how important it was to be open about my work and collaborate with others. I was encouraged to share my progress at all stages, whether it was presenting to the Product Manager or bouncing ideas off teammates. As an intern, I was pretty nervous about showing my early designs to the senior designers. But after my first feedback session, I realized how valuable it was. Their critiques and suggestions really helped me improve my approach and made me more confident in presenting my ideas. It taught me a valuable lesson - sharing your work, even when it's not perfect, is key to learning and getting better at what you do.

Questioning drives innovation
Interning with PwC as a designer was an amazing level up that I'm glad to have experienced. I got to dive into both strategy and hands-on work. While designing our AI tool, I kept questioning our ideas to make sure we were really solving our teams' problems. This led us to break the project into smaller, more focused parts - and I helped push all of them forward. I learned that staying curious and flexible is key in product design. It's how you end up making things that really work and matter.
Designing a stronger self
Taking charge of a project at PwC was intimidating at first, especially knowing that the product would impact thousands of users. However, the team was very understanding and supportive for the entire internship. As the sole designer, I received invaluable guidance from my mentors, Alexandra and Bernardo, and so many others on the team, who challenged me to elevate my solutions and shared PwC's client-focused design approach. The collaborative atmosphere significantly enhanced my skills. This experience continues to shape my design approach today, forming a strong foundation for my professional growth.
